I teach because the hidden work of healthcare has to be handed on, deliberately and well. As tenure-track Assistant Professor and Assistant Specialty Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Adult Gerontology Acute Care DNP Program at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, CUNY, I help lead one of New York's newest nurse anesthesia programs — from curriculum design and admissions through clinical progression and the first cohorts' path to practice.

My classroom work sits alongside published scholarship on how nurse anesthesia education should evolve: a competency-based DNP curriculum redesign (Journal of Nursing Education, 2026), a multi-campus model for integrating students into controlled-substance surveillance systems (Journal of Nursing Regulation, 2025), and national presentations on curriculum, clinical progression, and educator development. As Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education, that work extends to shaping the evidence base the whole field teaches from.
