Dr. Jenni Ross Majumdar is a nurse anesthetist and Nurse Scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education. She writes Art of Anesthesia, a Substack explaining what really happens in the operating room.
Dr. Jenni Ross Majumdar, PhD, MSN, CRNA, is a Nurse Scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a tenure-track Assistant Professor and Assistant Specialty Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, CUNY, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education. She is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a 2025–2026 92NY Women in Power Fellow. Her research program spans perioperative anxiety and recovery in cancer surgery patients and their caregivers, nurse anesthesia education and curriculum design, drug-diversion prevention and safety in clinical training, and the U.S. nurse anesthesia workforce. She has published more than twenty-seven peer-reviewed articles and has been funded by NIH (through a Weill Cornell sub-award), the Rudin Foundation, the Leslie B. Tyson Nursing Research Award, and others. She is the author of Art of Anesthesia on Substack, where she writes for a growing public audience about what actually happens during anesthesia — and what gets erased when nobody asks.
